Continuing Education Requirements
Licensed Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons
Within one year of being licensed, salespersons and brokers must take 10 hours
of post-licensing education. These courses must be taken at an institution
of higher education or other institution approved by the Ohio Real Estate
Commission.
All licensees must complete 30 hours of continuing education credit every
3 years. The first CE due date for a new licensee is 3 years after the first
birthday following licensure.
There are three mandatory training topics:
- three hours must be taken in a course covering recently enacted municipal,
state and federal civil rights law, civil rights case law, desegregation issues,
and methods of eliminating the effects of prior discrimination.
- three hours must be taken in a legal update course.
- three hours must be taken in a course that covers the canons of ethics
adopted by the Ohio Real Estate Commission.
