Continuing Education Requirements

Licensed Real Estate Salespersons and Brokers
Licensed salespersons and brokers are required to take 16 hours of continuing education every two years. At least 6 of these hours must be in the following subjects:

  • License and escrow law
  • Anti-trust law
  • Civil rights law
  • Agency law
  • Listing contracts and purchase agreements
  • Ethics and professionals standards
  • Settlement procedures

At least 10 hours of course work are to be taken in any of the following subjects:

  • Appraising
  • Property management
  • Farm property management
  • Commercial brokerage and leasing
  • Financing
  • Residential brokerage
  • Land development
  • Legislative issues affecting the real estate practice
  • Other approved courses
